Confluence

The Confluence snap-in enables you to transform your Confluence space into articles. It streamlines the migration process eliminating the need to manually duplicate your existing knowledge base in DevRev. To ensure that the right audience has access to the content, you can configure article access settings based on your preferences and the associated product. You can update your knowledge base with a single command. Updated content is reflected, and new articles are generated automatically.

Installation

  1. In the DevRev app, go to Settings > Integrations > Connections and click + Connection.
  2. In the Select a service window, select Confluence. A Connect to Confluence window appears.
  3. Create a new connection and authenticate your Confluence account.
  4. Click Snap-ins > Explore Marketplace.
  5. In the marketplace, search for the Confluence snap-in and click Install.
  6. Under the Connections tab, click Select connection and pick the connection you created in Step 3.
  7. Under the Configuration tab, from the Part for knowledge base drop-down menu, select the product you want the knowledge base articles to be associated with, and from the Access level drop-down menu, select the access level of the articles.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Click Deploy to deploy the snap-in.

Import articles for the first time

  1. In the Discussions tab of the Confluence snap-in, enter /sync_confluence <URL> where the <URL> is the Confluence space URL without brackets.

The URL should be in the following format:

    https://\<your-domain\>.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/\<space-key\>/overview

Where \<your-domain\> represents your specific domain address, and \<space-key\> is the unique identifier for the space containing the pages to be extracted.

The articles are created and linked to the products defined during the snap-in configuration. To view the articles, click Support > Knowledge Base > Articles.

Update articles

The app updates articles whose content has changed, as well as creates new articles that weren't present before. To view the articles, click Support > Knowledge Base > Articles.
